Best Event Talks: Beatboxing Brilliance by Tom Thum [VIDEO]

Let’s take a break from our usual informative talks and watch something a bit more fun.

Humans have this uncanny ability to mimic sounds. This talent really shines when applied to beatboxing. If you don’t know what that is, think of it as the art of creating sound effects using the vocal cords.

It’s been getting more mainstream these days, with beatboxing becoming a key component in some popular songs both in hip-hop and even pop music. And now, beatboxing comes to a TED talk.

In this week’s Best Event Talks, we have Tom Thum. A Brisbane native, he’s probably one of the most brilliant beatboxers around. He’s able to mimic not just drums and turntables, but also brass instruments, string twangs and human voices.

If you’re thinking about getting something unique for your next event, maybe you’d like to use the talents of a beatboxer? Or maybe seek out other artists with unconventional talents to provide entertainment to add something special to the event?

For now, enjoy this amazing performance and watch the video below.
